The seventh Deepwater Operations Conference & Exhibition will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, November 3-5, 2008. The theme for this year’s conference is “Succeeding in a Changing Environment.” The objective is to generate ideas for succeeding in an environment that becomes more complex, hazardous, and expensive as the industry shifts to deeper waters. Attendees will have opportunity to participate in discussions around lessons learned, interact with peers, and enhance networking bases.
This conference will be beneficial for engineers and managers who are fluent in the nuances of deepwater operations; field supervisors who must understand the complexities of deepwater operations; operations planning personnel involved in planning and scheduling deepwater operations worldwide; engineering staff and management involved in decision making; service and equipment suppliers; consulting companies; and business development managers.
Technical focus areas of this conference will include new deepwater start-ups; deepwater integrity management; emergency response & security; metering & allocations; subsea operations; integrated data management systems; staffing and competency development; asset management; training simulators; remote operations; and much more.
The forum audience will be comprised of field supervisors and operations planning personnel as well as engineering staff and management. The forum will address new operational issues, challenges, and solutions associated with the expanding global deepwater production operations. Sessions will include topics on start-up/commissioning, operating in advanced collaborative environments, search and rescue, production reliability, and regulatory issues. Exhibits will showcase technology and capabilities to support further improvement in operating efficiency of deepwater operations.
The Keynote Presentation will be given by Lars Herbst of Minerals Management Service. His discussion will look back at how the deepwater sector of the Gulf of Mexico has become the premier domestic oil and gas region and will look forward to ensuring the continued success of this operation.
