Direction by Indigo is the most important and influential show for the North American textile market design. This show brings together some 100 exhibitors including top international design studios as well as bookshops and trend bureaus. It offers designs for prints, embroideries, knits, applied, jacquard and transfer papers addressing all segments of the fashion and home markets. 2,500 visitors come each session to prepare their collection and find the reasons that will make the success of their designs. The 85th Annual Greater New York Dental Meeting will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center November 27 – December 2. New York is the place to be February 13-15 for all fashion fanciers as Couture Fashion Week showcases couture and luxury fashion along with fine art, world-class entertainment, and receptions. For the first time in its history, the New York National Boat Show will take place in advance of the holidays from December 13-21, 2008, during the height of the holiday shopping season. The world’s first and longest-running boat show, it is a one-stop resource for boating information and advice. Boating experts will be on hand to answer all of your questions and direct you the right boat for years of enjoyment. This year’s show will feature more than 1,000 of the newest and best in luxury motor yachts, cruising yachts, sport fishers, bass boats, performance boats, pontoon boats, and personal water craft, as well as fishing gear, engines, and marine accessories.

The Green Boating Zone will feature West Marine’s Go Green trade show display with “10 Green Boating Tips” to help boaters minimize their impact on the environment. The Westchester Craft Show celebrates its fifteenth anniversary as 115 outstanding artists present a rich diversity of craft including basketry, ceramics, glass, furniture, jewelry, leather, metal, and more. Meeting at the Westchester County Center, this show is a leader among contemporary American craft shows.

Knowledgeable collectors and discriminating shoppers will appreciate the high quality and original design of outstanding artists from all over the United Sates. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet important artists and select from a significant body of their newest work.

Special lectures will be held on Friday, October 17th. The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum will be the venue for the Long Island Auto Show 2008 running from Thursday, October 16 through Sunday, October 19, 2008. Produced by International Automotive Showcase, this show will feature the latest cars, trucks, SUVs, crossovers, and more. Manufacturers and dealers will showcase their new model vehicles, concept cars, specialty vehicles, green cars, and highly customized rides. You will be able to compare the latest fuel-efficient options and learn more about the “green” auto movement. Representatives from leading manufacturers will be onsite to answer questions and provide information on the latest vehicles.

Most of the vehicles will be unlocked so that attendees can sit in them, push buttons, inspect engines, and make comparisons of hundreds of models.
