Reading, PA is the place to be for all comic fans from around the globe. The CGS SuperShow is a creator focused comic convention created by the Comic Geek Speak Podcast to provide an intimate setting for self-proclaimed geeks to meet each other and the creators of the medium they love.

This year’s show will offer educational panels on everything from making web comics to costuming to the production, distribution and marketing of independent comic books. The panels will allow fans an opportunity to get up close and personal with comic creators. The show will start off with a “Comics in the Classroom” panel where you can come for an interactive opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and gain practical skills and materials for immediate use.

A featured panel will provide a Q&A session with comics’ legends Walt and Louise Simonson who helped define comics in the 1980s and 90s with titles such as Fantastic Four, Thor, Superman: Man of Steel, and Uncanny X-Men. Also featured will be Jimal Igle, currently penciler of Supergirl for DC Comics; Freddie Williams II, currently drawing JSA All-Stars for DC Comics; David Petersen, creator of Mouse Guard; Katie Cook, comic book artist and illustrator best known for her work in the Star Wars universe; Bryan J.L. Glass, the Harvey Award winning co-creator/writer of The Mice Templar; Dave Wachter, artist, co-creator and co-writer of the new epic adventure webcomic, The Guns of Shadow Valley; and many more.

The IAAPA Attractions Expo will be coming to Las Vegas for the first time in 90 years this coming November. This event will showcase the hottest products and services and host networking and education opportunities for the attractions industry. More than 28,000 attendees from 90 countries are expected at this year’s show. Over 1,000 exhibitors will be on hand including more than 100 companies exhibiting for the first time.

The IAAPA Attractions Expo brings together operators and suppliers of theme parks, water parks, science centers, aquariums, zoos, museums, family entertainment centers, casinos, and resorts. Attendees will be able to see and experience the latest products and learn about industry trends. Exhibitors will showcase products in over 125 categories including theme park rides, show production services, games and devices, displays and sets, food and beverage products and services, consultant services, design services, ticketing systems, and much more.

The International CES is produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) which represents more than 2,200 corporate members involved in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution, and integration of consumer electronics products. The 2009 International CES will feature more than 200 conference sessions focused on key industry trends and markets. Over 2,700 trade show displays will introduce the latest consumer technology products throughout 30 product categories. For the first time in its history, the New York National Boat Show will take place in advance of the holidays from December 13-21, 2008, during the height of the holiday shopping season. The world’s first and longest-running boat show, it is a one-stop resource for boating information and advice. Boating experts will be on hand to answer all of your questions and direct you the right boat for years of enjoyment. This year’s show will feature more than 1,000 of the newest and best in luxury motor yachts, cruising yachts, sport fishers, bass boats, performance boats, pontoon boats, and personal water craft, as well as fishing gear, engines, and marine accessories.

The Green Boating Zone will feature West Marine’s Go Green trade show display with “10 Green Boating Tips” to help boaters minimize their impact on the environment. Some of the products featured include the first marine cleaners to carry the EPA “Design for the Environment” (Dfe) label and the revolutionary Torqeedo, a portable electric outboard that fits inside a backpack.

Twiggy, the Waterskiing Squirrel, will showcase her skills as she skis around her custom-made heated swimming pool behind a radio-controlled boat. She will share the importance of water safety with her fans.

Captains John and Andy Hillstrand, stars of Discovery Channel’s Emmy-award winning series Deadliest Catch, will be at the show to meet fans and sign autographs.

The official kick-off of the 400th birthday of the Hudson River will take place with a special exhibit, the Hudson River Quadricentennial Celebration.
